We’re a cognitive science company on a mission to optimize the measurement of brain health to advance the development of new medicines and to enable earlier clinical insights in healthcare.
That’s why we’re seeking a Sr. Manager, Operations and Recruitment, accountable for supporting the recruitment, contracting, onboarding and training of expert clinicians in various languages and geographies who specialize in the administration of clinical outcome assessments/scales in different therapeutic indications.
This position will ensure that our clinical operations team are well supported with the requisite staffing levels of clinical experts that are highly qualified and well calibrated, enabling Cogstate to deliver exceptional and quality services for pharmaceutical clinical trial sponsors. Primary responsibilities of the onboarded clinicians range from administering psychological assessments to patients, ensuring proper administration of a clinical assessment from raters to patients, and reviewing clinical in-study visit data.
Collaboration with various departments such as People & Culture, Clinical Operations, Clinical Science, and the Clinician Network is essential to ensure seamless integration of new hire Clinicians and continuous improvement of recruitment and onboarding practice.
*Incentive Range: $115,000 - 140,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to attract clinical consultants in the field of life sciences with language-specific expertise.
- Collaborate with People & Culture and other departments to create job postings, screen candidates, and conduct interviews.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future needs (indication, language, service availability, time zone).
- Support Clinician proposals inputs to align recruitment efforts.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline the contracting process for new consultants, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with candidates and external agencies as needed.
- Leverage systems, technologies or processes to streamline and improve the contracting process in line with business needs.
- Negotiate consultant hourly fees balancing market rates and budgets.
- Design and support comprehensive onboarding programs for new clinicians, focusing on both general and language-specific training.
- Coordinate with internal teams to provide necessary resources and support for new hires.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of onboarding programs and make improvements as needed.
- Manage staff, including hiring, training, mentoring and regular performance reviews
- Oversee staffing capacity and develop resourcing plans supporting existing and new projects, develop solutions for anticipating and absorbing peaks in workload.
- Work closely with Clinician Network, Science, Clinical Operations, People & Culture, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of new hires into the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Human Resources, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational roles that involve recruitment, hiring, and training, preferably in a global or multilingual environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical operations and the life sciences industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines efficiently
- Developing automated systems, infrastructure, and dashboard reporting
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with HR software and applicant tracking systems.
- Willingness to travel to key Life Sciences annual conferences to meet recruited clinicians and/or further recruitment efforts.
