HTML Developer (US, Part-Time Remote)

Job Description

At Science Buddies, a K-12 nonprofit, we believe in empowering the next generation of scientists and innovators. We are looking for a talented HTML Developer to join our dynamic team and help us enhance our digital presence reaching millions of students and educators every year.

This is an ideal position for someone with HTML / CSS knowledge seeking the opportunity to learn and continue to develop skills around web development and infrastructure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Researches, coordinates, edits, and integrates the work of our content development team to design and develop new pages that meet established guidelines and are error free.
• Works with our content development team to ensure all new content is error free.
• Uses knowledge of HTML and CSS to design prototypes for new or existing applications.
• Supports the Chief Software Architect in testing basic features of new software releases using pre-defined test plans and scripts to identify defects.

Desired Skills & Experience

Strong candidates for this position will have the following characteristics:

• Bachelor's degree in Web Design, or a STEM-related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
• Strong capability in cross-browser and cross-device development.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business and technical architectures into simple, actionable insights.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
• A keen eye for design and an understanding of user experience principles.
• Must be able to work independently and also as part of a team.

Salary Range: $30 - $45 / hr
