About The Role The Business Analyst – ESG and Sustainability role at Blueprint is a critical position supporting enterprise-wide sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting initiatives. This role acts as a bridge between business operations and environmental compliance, focusing on optimizing internal processes, supporting regulatory and customer-facing reporting, and enhancing sustainability data management. The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure the accurate, consistent, and timely delivery of ESG data, while also contributing to the development and refinement of reporting frameworks and operational procedures. Key responsibilities include working closely with stakeholders to align on ESG reporting needs, developing standard operating procedures, preparing comprehensive ESG reports for regulatory agencies and clients, and maintaining effective communication channels across business units. The role also involves tracking project budgets, reviewing contracts, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, analyzing business metrics, and contributing to strategic sustainability decisions. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence environmental and social governance practices within a fast-paced, innovative organization. Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in business operations, ESG, sustainability reporting, or related roles
- Proven experience preparing ESG reports and engaging with stakeholders in large, matrixed organizations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and Excel for reporting, visualization, and data analysis
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with senior leadership and subject matter experts
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical skills with an understanding of strategic planning, budget monitoring, and business operations
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as CSRD, EED, and other relevant sustainability standards
- Experience working in complex, high-scale environments such as technology, energy, pharma, or hyperscale data operations
- Degree in environmental science, sustainability, business, engineering, or related scientific disciplines (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives or digital transformation in sustainability functions
- Interest or exposure to emerging technologies like agentic AI applied to ESG functions
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align on ESG reporting processes and operational support needs (approximately 33%)
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures, reporting frameworks, and internal process documentation (33%)
- Prepare and deliver ESG and sustainability reports for regulatory compliance and customer inquiries (33%)
- Maintain communication channels across internal business units to ensure reporting consistency and stakeholder alignment
- Track project budgets, review contracts and proposals, and monitor transactions to identify potential cost overruns
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental and social reporting systems and data governance
- Analyze business metrics and performance indicators to inform strategic sustainability decisions
- Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements and assist in implementing necessary changes
