About the Role

Ariat is looking for a Sales Director for a multi-door retail account. In this position, you will be a key driver of a specific business responsible for achieving sales goals, leading the account strategy, and working effectively and proactively with the Sales team and Account Buyers to develop opportunities and minimize risk. Additionally, you will work with our internal cross functional partners to maintain and encourage productive product and planning alignment across the two divisions. The responsibilities are outlined below; there may also be other duties as assigned.

This position is remote; however, Ariat will only be considering candidates who are located in Oklahoma, North or East Texas, Arkansas, or Louisiana.You’ll Make a Difference by

  • Efficiently managing the Sales Team to ensure the team is motivated, results orientated and driven to achieve Sales Goals to hit company targets
  • Developing and clearly communicating Footwear & Apparel product merchandising strategy based on the market opportunities and Customer profile
  • Managing and implementing the sales forecasting, planning, and buyer driven sales and marketing processes
  • Providing analytical problem solving and strategy development to support long-term business planning processes
  • Partnering with functional leaders across Planning, Product, Marketing and Store Operation teams to drive sales growth that supports the delivery of brand and business goals
  • Demonstrating a desire to own projects and exceed expectations, with the ability to find solutions and deliver results within changing environments
  • Identifying and solving Customer issues strategically while building strong Customer relationships
  • Understanding the competitive landscape and market trends
  • Developing and coaching sales team members, along with growing strength of the Sales Director group
  • Leading and collaborating cross-functionally to complete special projects as required by a growth organization, including work on new SAP and Logistics/Warehouse endeavors
  • Promoting a culture of curiosity and continuous learning
  • Other tasks may be assigned

About You

  • Extensive knowledge of retail and/or wholesale in the Western industry. Experience in footwear and/or apparel strongly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years in previous Buying, Planning, or Analytical Sales Role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite with advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to work successfully with peers; a true team player
  • Extremely motivated, a self-starter and able to work effectively in a team environment and independently manage time and work against business deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to connect work to the "big picture" brand and business goals
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to uncover new growth opportunities while minimizing potential risks to the business
  • Experience in retail planning systems and programs relative to retail planning processes (including EDI), including seasonal assortment planning at style/store/size level,model stock management, and bulk contract orders

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000 per year.

The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations. Ariat in good faith believes that this posted compensation range is accurate for this role at this location at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
