Director of Finance

Position Overview: Hello Alpha is seeking a Finance leader with a passion for patient advocacy and improving the way people access healthcare today. The Director of Finance will be responsible for directing, maintaining, and overseeing the finance and accounting operations at Alpha, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax reporting, budget preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.The Director of Finance will work collaboratively under the supervision of the General Counsel/Chief Administration Office and Chief Executive Officer. What You Will Be Doing:

• Manage the company’s operational and corporate finance functions including financial planning, cash flow management, policy setting and other strategic financial matters
• Lead, manage, and scale the Alpha accounting function including bringing outsourced functions in house over time
• Lead financial and headcount planning, forecasting, and budgeting, developing appropriate financial targets, and KPIs
• Collaborate with Alpha’s executive team to forecast and execute on new finance projects, revenue streams/models and initiatives as they relate to the financial and operational health of the company
• Identify, create, and rollout new financial programs, processes, best practices, and data structures
• Partner with all budget owners to ensure they have timely reporting of department’s actual performance versus plan on operational and financial metrics, and a strategic partner in making key decisions to drive company performance over time
• Prepare and present financial data and reporting to Alpha’s Executive team, board of directors, and prospective investors
• Increase the company’s ability to anticipate business issues and drive good decision-making through sound financial management
• Manage key service provider relationships with auditors, outsourced accountants, technical accounting advisory, and strategic partners
• Manage the preparation, review, and accuracy of company financial statements, audits, and tax returns
• Manage the monthly financial close, consolidation and reporting processes, ensure timely process completion and accurate reporting
• Manage the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions while maintaining proper controls

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or business. CPA is a nice-to-have
• 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or business
• Experience as a Finance Leader/Director, Finance for a venture-backed startup
• Experience working in the healthcare industry a plus; specifically with care delivery such as clinics, hospitals, or telemedicine
• Sophisticated financial modeling - experience creating financial models related to headcount, roadmaps, and burn rate, including building models from scratch, improving existing models, and simplifying complex models
• Experience in building, leading and managing finance and accounting teams and systems
• Highly strategic with a bias towards action, with both creative and analytical business acumen
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent Excel, Google suite skills and working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary range for this role is $142,000 - $252,000. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
