Finance Associate
Phamily is a software company focused on leveraging accessible technology and artificial
intelligence (AI) to drive better healthcare outcomes for patients while addressing the increasing
cost and profitability challenges facing the healthcare industry. Our SaaS platform, Phamily,
provides healthcare systems and physicians with an AI-powered virtual care platform that
enables them to efficiently and easily manage the chronic conditions and general healthcare
needs of their patients between office visits, while also increasing their own reimbursement and
financial sustainability in the process. Phamily helps transform healthcare from reactive,
episodic treatment to proactive care management. We have helped tens of thousands of
patients since our founding. We need your help to serve even more patients and revolutionize
healthcare delivery!
What We Are Looking For:
At Phamily, we value high performance teams, and we want to work with people that embody
our foundational competencies:
- Curiosity (intellectual, emotional and social) and a drive to learn and grow in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, environment - We believe that rethinking the status quo - including within yourself and your own development - is imperative and that great ideas can and should come from everyone and be about everyone/everything. You are a creative problem solver and use all available resources when tackling any issue or obstacle.
- Collaboration - Every interaction, whether with a client or a colleague, should be impactful, respectful and ideally, leave that colleague excited for the next time you work together.
- Execution-oriented with an ownership mentality - You do what you say you will do and do what needs to be done, taking full responsibility for the success of your work. You have the courage and creativity to be thoughtfully disruptive and try new things, but will also admit when something isn’t working, own it, re-think your approach and improve.
Because we are a fast-growing, early-stage company with a bold mission and a lot of work to do, every employee of Phamily must have growth company DNA, which requires either success working in a fast-paced VC/PE-backed early-stage company with high expectations or the underlying qualities that create that success: fast-pace, high-motor, comfort with ambiguity and resilience in all of its forms, as well as a growth mindset. Things change quickly and frequently here, so we need someone who is at the top of their game and can shift gears, alter direction, and keep going at pace. You must be a playbook writer and executor, able to make plans that both meet the current moment and contemplate the future and then implement them. No matter your job level, you will own your work from beginning to end, take feedback well, prioritize what matters, never rest on your laurels, stay positive and resilient, and make data-driven decisions.
That is, we are looking for a smart, driven Finance Associate to work alongside the Chief Financial Officer and ensure sound financial decision-making, strategic planning, and successful venture fundraising. You will interface directly with Phamily’s customers and VCs, pivoting your attention to a wide range of projects including; Operational finance, forecasting and modeling, commercial finance and capital markets, Customer Financial reviews and Strategic Finance.
Specifically, you will:
- Manage invoicing, facilitate audits, review the work of the bookkeepers to ensure that the accounts are reconciled properly each month.
- Own the maintenance of the financial model, including pulling data from across disparate systems. Experience in forecasting (low, high , base case) is required to succeed.
- Partner with the CFO to connect with debt lenders and apply for debt financing.
- Interact with VCs and collaborate with the CFO in constructing and maintaining the data room.
- Perform claims data analysis. Must have a keen understanding of the required balance of speed and forensics accounting / sleuthing to understand what stories the data tells (eg. if the client is seeing lower reimbursement rates, can they cut the data 3 different ways to understand the why.)
- Analyze alternative pricing models for future application, research value-based care pricing models, evaluate vendors in a spreadsheet matrix format, contemplate ROI of different marketing spend options, and perform primary research. Opportunity to work directly with customers to develop financial models on how to expand usage of CCM or track other benefits they are achieving (eg. reduced phone calls to the front desk, etc.)
What you have accomplished:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or a related field; healthcare industry experience a plus
- Advanced Excel and basic SQL/Python skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset focused on solving complex challenges
