My client is seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to join their growing team. You will be responsible for leading a team of business analysts, overseeing resources, budgets, and timelines, ensuring the delivery of high-quality analysis and insights to support the organisation's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:Leadership

  • Manage and lead a team of 70 business analysis project teams, including 8 senior business analysts, ensuring high performance and achievement of targets while maintaining business analysis standards, frameworks, and quality.
  • Oversee the development and career progression of business analysts within the team.

Resources

  • Develop and implement best practices for business analysis across multiple programmes.
  • Scope and plan business analysis resources and effort across various projects.
  • Balance priorities and demands with senior stakeholders to ensure business analysis activities are coordinated across complex programmes and projects.
  • Manage resourcing requirements to meet portfolio demands, including recruitment as necessary.

Requirements Gathering

  • Lead large and complex programmes to ensure deliverables are met, including managing business analysts’ workloads and planning.
  • Coordinate requirements activities, validation, and sign-off, ensuring key stakeholder needs are effectively captured and aligned with business objectives.
  • Approve relevant business case inputs and success criteria for projects.

Process Modelling

  • Approve business process modelling and solutions to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.

Business Analysis

  • Provide leadership and guidance on best practices, ways of working, and frameworks for business analysis.
  • Ensure business analysts working within the programme adhere to professional standards and quality expectations.

Facilitation

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, service delivery managers, programme/project managers, business architects, users, change teams, and technical teams to identify, design, and implement efficient solutions.

Stakeholder Management and Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring a thorough understanding of their business areas and change initiatives.
  • Foster networks and build cross-functional connections to support smooth project delivery.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to the performance or capability of proposed solutions and their impact on service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing individuals and teams.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders, including CTO, CEO, and CIO level.
  • Ability to break down complex problems, using a variety of inputs from your team, to develop necessary outputs such as wireframes, blueprints, SOPs, customer journey maps, and end-to-end process maps.
  • Experience in the creation and evaluation of solution options and supporting the business case and options analysis.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident in leading presentations and communicating with tact and diplomacy on sensitive issues.
  • Experience leading business analyst teams across all areas of an operating model, with a balance of delegation and accountability.
  • Understanding of the programme delivery lifecycle and relevant working models (e.g., pursuit, programme, performance).
