OPPORTUNITY: Senior Social Strategist

Beekman Social is currently seeking a sharp Senior Social Strategist to join the BKMN team. To be

successful in this position, you'll need cultural smarts, strong storytelling instincts, the ability to express

complex ideas in writing, and quantitative capabilities to conduct market research that informs or

optimizes social media campaigns.

Your experience makes you an expert at merging big-picture thinking in brand strategy with the

ever-evolving world of social media. You understand the relationship between business fundamentals and

brands. You know how brands come to life in the social sphere and are fluent in the tools to create and

nurture brand relationships online. You understand the economic dynamics of social media, platform

value and nuance, and are at the leading edge of emerging technology and social opportunities. You

approach problems with a creative and collaborative lens.

In this role, you’ll balance innovation and out-of-the-box thinking with the fundamentals of your craft.

social strategy.

WHAT YOU’D DO

Research

● Conduct qualitative, open-source research on social media, including thematic analysis from

time-series data.

● Conduct quantitative research using direct data collection and third-party tools such as Sprout

Social and Tagger. You’ll also work with first-party data such as client web analytics.

Insights and Analysis

● Synthesize mixed-source data into big-picture insights. Go beyond the “what” to uncover the “so

what” that informs effective strategy and campaign work.

● Distill strategic insights from broader analysis to fuel creative direction.

Strategy

● Review social audit work and develop the overarching social strategy recommendation.

● Regularly analyze the state of our clients’ social media presence across channels.

● Apply independent critical thinking to identify trends, content opportunities, and strategic

direction.

● Support and elevate the team’s overall capabilities and understanding of social media analytics.

● Generate audience, campaign, and market insights to improve alignment with clients’ business

and media goals.

● Forecast growth projections and set clear KPIs and benchmarks.

● Create effective data visualizations to illustrate key insights.

WHAT YOU’VE GOT

● Experience with brand strategy and working alongside brand and communications strategists.

● An understanding of the broader marketing and communications mix — including traditional and

non-traditional channels — and how social ts into that landscape.

● Experience implementing social, digital, and/or integrated campaigns for national brands.

● Previous experience at a creative agency.

● Fluency in content strategy, communications planning, and social analytics.

● A minimum of 5 years working in organic social media strategy.

● Confidence in leading presentations through storytelling.

● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to be a connective force across disciplines and client

relationships.
