Role Purpose

The Full Stack Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the Your Staff Hub software, ensuring that it is delivered on time, on budget and in accordance with requirements. The incumbent will be accountable for providing technical guidance to the wider Your Staff Hub team and ensuring adherence to best practices in software development.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to) are: 

1. Design, develop and test the Your Staff Hub software from specifications which are supplied or self-generated.  
2. Maintain existing software to ensure it continues to be stable, robust and secure. 
3. Implement and manage APIs, working with frontend developers to ensure the UI is seamlessly hooked up. 
4. Develop and optimise backend services ensuring that data flow is efficient. 
5. Collaborate with the Solution Architect to identify performance bottlenecks and assist with providing appropriate solutions.  
6. Identify and address complex issues as they occur. 
7. Create and maintain technical documentation.

Skills Required

It is expected that you will have the following skills and capabilities:

1. Proficiency in development using Next.js, React, Apollo GraphQL. 
2. Expertise in object relational database design using Postgresql and typeORM. 
3. Experienced in preparing documentation throughout development. 
4. Experience working within an agile environment and developing within sprints. 
5. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully with the existing team, with an awareness of established work processes.
6. Accountable and willing to give and receive feedback in a respectful and helpful manner. 
7. Active learner, self-starter and ability to pivot quickly and respond to issues and requirements as they occur.
