Job Description:

The Director of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and increase market share across all product segments and channel sectors. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sales management, customer relationship building, and a deep understanding of the CPG and grocery retail landscape. We are seeking a passionate and results-driven individual.

This is also a remote role. Leading and developing a high performing team to execute sales strategy, in addition to hands-on account management of a select portfolio of accounts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, a deep understanding of the consumer products market, and expertise in strategic planning and execution, as well as excellence in managing and nurturing key client relationships. This role is in a fast paced, creative environment, it offers an opportunity to be part of building a rapidly growing business while actively contributing towards strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Lead and oversee the sales team, providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Manage a select portfolio of key accounts, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our market presence.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align strategies and achieve sales targets.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape to inform business decisions and optimize sales performance.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
  • Negotiate and close high-value sales deals, ensuring profitable growth for the company.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and build industry connections.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in CPG sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the consumer products industry, preferably within FDM channels.
  • Strong understanding of the CPG and grocery retail market dynamics, including key players and industry trends.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing strategic sales plans.
  • Excellent account management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
